Dr. Janet E. Smith, PhD - Professor, author (Detroit)

Janet E. Smith is the author of Humanae Vitae: A Generation Later and of the Right to Privacy and the editor of Why Humanae Vitae Was Right: A Reader. Prof. Chris Kaczor and Prof. Smith co-authored Life Issues, Medical Choices, Questions and Answers for Catholics.  She has recently edited with Fr. Paul Check, Living the Truth in Love: Pastoral Approaches to Same Sex Issues. Her articles have been published in many academic journals, has been a regular columnist for the National Catholic Register and blogs on CatholicVote.com.

She is serving a third term as a consulter to the Pontifical Council on the Family and currently is a member of the Anglican Roman Catholic International Commission, III. She has received two honorary doctorates and several other awards for scholarship and service. 

Prof. Smith has appeared on the Geraldo show, Fox Morning News, CNN International, CNN Newsroom, AlJazeera and has done many shows for various series on EWTN. More than two million copies of her talk, “Contraception: Why Not” have been distributed.

Patrick is the Founder and CEO of Patrick Coffin Media, a media platform that helps people understand and recover the Christian roots of western culture. He is the author of Sex Au Naturel; Stay Cool When the Argument Heats Up; Once Saved Not Always Saved, and How to Handle Haters, and for almost eight years was the host of the top-rated radio show, Catholic Answers Live. Patrick has interviewed guests of the highest calibre from two-time Academy Award winner Kevin Costner, four Presidential candidates and many others. Patrick’s work has been featured in National Catholic Register, Catholic World Report, Inside the Vatican, The Toronto Star, and National Review Online. 

Patrick is also a professional magician (illusionist). He lives in Southern California with his Peruvian queen and their Inca princesses.

Most Reverend Christian Lépine, Archbishop of Montreal

Archbishop Lépine has had many years of experience as a pastor and teacher. Ordained a priest in 1983, at Saint-André-Apôtre Parish, he began his priestly ministry at Saint-Joseph-de-Mont-Royal before departing for Rome to study philosophy at the Gregorian University from 1986 to 1989. Upon his return to Montreal, he was appointed parish assistant at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges and pastor of Saint-Joseph-de-Mont-Royal. He ministered there until 1996, when he became the director of Jean-Claude Cardinal Turcotte's secretariat. In 1998, he was called to Rome, where he worked for the Secretary of State and then for the Congregation for Divine Worship. In 2000, he returned to Montreal and was appointed director of the Grand Séminaire de Montréal, a mandate that he fulfilled up until 2006. From 2006 to 2012, he was pastor of Purification de la Bienheureuse-Vierge-Marie and Notre-Dame-des-Champs parishes. Throughout his various activities, Most Rev. Lépine taught philosophy and theology for some twenty years at the Grand Séminaire de Montréal. Ordained a bishop on September 10, 2011 by Jean-Claude Cardinal Turcotte, he was appointed Episcopal Vicar to Family and Youth as well as Director of the Pastoral Liturgy Service. Finally, on March 20, 2012, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him archbishop of Montreal.

Most Rev. Lépine is the tenth bishop and eighth archbishop of Montreal, since the establishment of the diocese in 1836.

Mr. Michel G. MacDonald, PhD, STD - Executive Director for the Catholic Organization for Life and Family (Ottawa)

A former lecturer in theology, Michel G. MacDonald has taught courses in bioethics, human sexuality and marriage, and moral theology. He received his S.T.L. from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family (Washington, D.C.), and holds a doctorate in theology (Ph.D., S.T.D.) from the University of Ottawa and Saint Paul University.

Happily married with seven children, Mr. MacDonald enjoys playing music, watching old movies and sipping fine whiskey.
